WHO WE ARE

Mercedes pay S.A. is a young, innovative start-up in the field of mobile/online payment. Our goal is to establish the new standard for payment processes. ‘Mercedes pay’ is the electronic payment system for services provided by the Daimler Group. It is a fundamental component of Daimler’s mobility and digitalization strategy. As a part of the Daimler group, we are ambitious to make the products and services that Daimler offers even more appealing with the new payment system.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Inhouse Lawyer (m/f) to effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize probability of exposure.


YOUR ROLE

  • Give accurate and timely advice to the Chief Legal Counsel in a variety of legal topics relating to the company’s business (payment and e-money services, internal governance, AML, data protection, corporate matters )
  • Review/draft internal policies and procedures
  • Research and evaluate different legal risk factors regarding business decisions and operations and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties (external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust
  • Draft/review agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
  • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
  • Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility


OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years’ experience as an Inhouse Lawyer in Luxembourg in the banking or payment/e-money services sector with expertise in the legal topics described above
  • Preferably experience as inhouse legal counsel
  • Full comprehension of the influences of the internal/external environment of a corporation
  • Ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information
  • Fluent in English and French, German is considered to be an asset
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams and willingness to undertake business trips
  • Team player, as well as decisiveness, assertiveness and the ability to think in business contexts as well as pragmatic working methods
