Our client is an international Anglo-Saxon insurance company newly established in Luxembourg.
Prepare financial reporting (including financial statements and other board reports) and schedules to support analysis and disclosures.
Assist in the development of new internal and external financial reports.
Document processes and procedures to support the preparation of regulatory reporting.
Perform various balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist the Finance Manager in the relationship with the audit to satisfy statutory and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and file a variety of other reporting requirements (e.g. National Statistics, branch reporting).
Work alongside the Finance department in the UK and the US to ensure existing data is used consistently and efficiently.
Review current processes, identify potential improvements and ensure all procedures are documented.
Assist in the review of income tax returns and tax payment instalments, as appropriate.
Build good relationships with Tax Authorities, external tax advisers and the company’s tax departments.
Support Global and Financial initiatives and projects (e.g. GFP financial system project).
Support local business departments and gain a good understanding of operations.
Your technical skills:
University degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline with a minimum of at least one-year experience in finance-based roles.
Excellent knowledge of the Luxembourg insurance sector and reporting requirements.
Ability to review, interpret and apply technical requirements.
Good working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Excel and Word).
Perfectly fluent in English and French.
Part/Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent will be considered as an advantage.
